We are not trying to reinvent the wheel. Mesavolt is the kind of tool you already know how to use, for your own projects and for working with other people. It runs offline or online, and your data stays on your machine.

Boards and cards are the easy part. Here is the rest of what Mesavolt does, so you can tell whether it covers the way you actually work.
A vault on your disk
Pick a folder save your projects into. Boards, cards, notes and attachments live there like any other file in your computer. No quota, no upload limit, you decide how you use your disk space.
No limits
No seats, no caps, no plan to outgrow. Make as many of everything as the work needs; the only ceiling is the disk you already own.
Switch between views
Choose the view that works best to visualise your tasks, your preferences are remembered.
Organise tasks your way
Name them, colour them, cap them, configure them. You can also map a column to a task status so that they are moved into the right place for you.
Collaborate
Work by yourself or bring people in. Invite by a code, allocate projects, assign people cards. Changes sync whenever you are online.

Each note is a plain .md file in your vault, so every other editor you own can read them too.
A toolbar, or just markdown
The in-app editor has a familiar control bar to style text, if you know markdown you can type it in directly with syntax highlighting for code.

Paste an address to get its title and its picture, or give it a label of your own.
Attachments
Drop pictures, video and files on a task. Images and videos preview and its fast thanks to the local-first nature of Mesavolt. They are files in your vault, so nothing caps their size but your disk.

Sync to multiple devices
Pair another machine to sync to another device while keeping your identity.

Dark or light themes, customize status and priority marks, sync bar and more to match your preferences.
Across the room, the world, or neither
Copies swap changes straight across your network, and through your relay when they are apart. With no way out at all they carry on anyway and catch up when there is one.
Nothing is sent that has not been signed and encrypted first.
Sync through a relay you control
Setting up your own relay makes sure you can continue working even if we as a company cease to exist.
The relay is one binary and it comes with the app. Put it on any small server with a domain, or use one someone you trust runs. Changes travel signed and per project and can't be read by relay.
Control access to projects
Pick who's on your project as an editor or reader, someone not on a project never receives any data, not even through a relay.
Keep your seat when you lose your device
Your identity is kept as a key. Type them on a new machine and you will have access to every workspace you were on.
…and forty-four more. Nobody else has them, and nobody can post them to you.
Organise your tasks
You can keep your boards and lists by archiving what is finished, add them to trash, and put anything back where it was.
Move work where it belongs
Send a card to another board, project or workspace. It keeps its history, and the key it used to go by stays written on it.

Nothing here needs an account with us, and the app itself never calls home.

Install, pick a folder
One download. Mesavolt asks where the vault should live; that folder is the whole app state.

Work away
Add boards, columns, cards, notes. Everything is written locally first, so you can work with or without a connection.

Sync over the network
As an optional step, point Mesavolt at a relay, invite people with a code, pair other devices. Decide per project who accesses what.
